About Game Day
WODsmith Game Day is an iPhone companion for WODsmith competitions. Spectators can browse public competitions without signing in. Athletes sign in to view their own registration, schedule, and competition announcements.
Information used by the app
When you sign in, your email and password are transmitted to WODsmith over HTTPS for authentication. WODsmith stores account information, including your name, email, and user identifier. The app can update your profile name. Registration, team, check-in, heat assignment, and leaderboard information are supplied by WODsmith and your competition organizer.
On your iPhone
Your session credential is stored in the iOS Keychain and is not synchronized to other devices. Downloaded profile, registration, competition, and schedule information is cached on your device for reading during connection loss. Signing out clears this athlete cache and scheduled reminders. iOS may also clear temporary cached data.
Notifications and Live Activities
Heat reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. Reminder preferences stay on your device. A Live Activity displays the competition, workout, heat, lane, venue, and countdown you choose on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Anyone able to view your Lock Screen may see these details. You can end the countdown from Profile. Reopen the app to receive organizer schedule changes.
Organizer announcement alerts
When you enable announcement alerts, WODsmith stores your Apple push token linked to your account and sign-in session. Apple processes the token and a generic alert with competition and announcement identifiers to deliver notifications. Announcement text is fetched only after the app checks your account access. You can disable alerts in Game Day or iPhone Settings. Signing out disables alerts; offline cleanup retries when you reopen the app online. Inactive device registrations expire after seven days. Delivery records are retained for up to 31 days for reliability and duplicate prevention.
Tracking and sharing
The native app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Requests to WODsmith are processed by its hosting infrastructure. WODsmith uses operational logs and server monitoring, including Sentry and PostHog, to diagnose errors and slow requests. These records can include request paths, status, duration, and account identifiers when available. They support reliability and security, not advertising or cross-company tracking. We require service providers that process user data on our behalf to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard described in this policy and required by Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines, and to use it only to provide their services to WODsmith. Competition information is shared according to the organizer’s publication settings. Opening WODsmith pages uses the website’s privacy practices.
Retention and your choices
Device caches are retained until sign-out or removal by iOS. Your WODsmith account and registration records remain on the server according to the full WODsmith privacy policy. For access, correction, or deletion requests, contact privacy@wodsmith.com. Do not include your password. Public competition results and records required for legitimate operational or legal purposes may be retained as described in that policy.
